John Paul College

John Paul College opened on an 11-hectare site of virgin bushland on Australia Day, 1982, with just 144 students in Years 8 and 9.

As Queensland's first ecumencial school, it was born out of the co-operation of the local Anglican, Uniting and Roman Catholic parishes. In 1989, the College welcomed our first Primary students, with the Child Care Centre opening in 1996, followed by John Paul International College in 1997.

Today, with a 30-hectare world-class campus, the College has been recognised as one of Australia's top 10 schools*, providing unique learning opportunities for over 2500 students.

The main campus comprises the Primary, Middle and Senior Schools and John Paul International College. The Cec Munns Sports Centre, opposite the College, provides five additional ovals for training and competition.

2003 marked the commencement of an eight-year, $17 million redevelopment and refurbishment program adding a Kindergarten, a Retail Centre and two new car parks along with the Gorman Centre for Senior School students completed in 2005.

The Objective

Fit-out for the Gorman Centre Project. A lecture theatre, electronic classroom & presentation systems, digital signage system to the reception area.

Electronic classroom consisted of data projection systems, with audio and video presentation facilities, and audio reinforcement with ceiling recessed speakers.

Integrated push button control systems for each of the 10 classrooms. 17 classrooms in total were fitted out.Within the state of the art Lecture Theatre, modern audio video presentation equipment including dual large screen data projection. Connectivity from multiple format video, audio & computer equipment. Including VCR, DVD, digital TV, video recording, and document presentation using a digital document camera.


The theatre allows the college to broadcast presentations out to the entire campus. Pan/ tilt /zoom cameras and an array on integrated microphones allow real live broadcasts of the presenter and audience.
The students can interact with the teachers or presenter at each microphone stations. Facilities for hearing impaired audio system, Dolby digital surround sound. Multiple touch panel control from the lectern and purpose built workstations Talk to TONY about it..
