The Reference Theater Pack delivers superior acoustic performance by leveraging Injection Molded Graphite (IMG) woofers. These exceptionally lightweight cones are extremely rigid – providing remarkable low frequency response, with minimal cone breakup and distortion. A Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) tweeter minimizes distortion for enhanced, detailed performance. LTS tweeters have been a hallmark of our Reference series product lines, making it a core component of some of the best speakers in the world.

Have owned these for over a year now from Videopro North Lakes. I have a class AB Onkyo TX-NR818 pushing these with volume limiter set. So lots of headway for clarity. These speakers had a run-in period where I found it difficult to get them tuned in, and weren't sounding great as a result. They are very different to setup equalizer levels to what larger HT setups are, and one must ensure the sub does more heavy lifting with bass due to frequency capabilities of the sats. I did eventually find their working equalizer sweet spots, and cross-over point, invluding the sub equaliser settings. Reviews elsewhere don't do them justice straight out of the box on an amplifier that wouldn't auto-setup these well at all. As I said... different. As a result, some not so good reviews have tarnished the reputation on this Quintet Reference pack. Every amplifier is different as well. I wouldn't use these with a class D amplifier due to harmonic distortion in that class amp being reproduced in horrible detail in these speakers - not the speakers fault. You will need to know what you are doing, otherwise you too will want to give them a bad review like the so-called 'professionals' have. In my opinion they did not know how to set these up, nor allowed a run-in period. Again, they are different. They sound decent! Sub doesn't dig deep for movies, but the majority of my audio is music anyway, and I don't want to advertise I have a large system to passers by, or send bass out through the uninsulated roof that ends up with complaints from aged residents around me. The sub was also a challenge to set up so it worked in harmony with the rest of the satellites. I managed to tighten up the low-end sub frequencies, whilst the top-end sub frequencies where still capable before cross-over to the sats. They don't appear to be as sensitive as advertised though, and a good amplifier is required. The entire speaker system truly is a new class by itself. They are remarkably capable for their size, and best bang for buck desipite the scary price tag for what you get; they aren't toys, and don't sound plastic. Easy to pack, and move if needed. I have mine mounted to ProStand DJ speaker stands that are cheap, pro looking, and safer with Children. The design of the grills allowed me to put black bands around them to prevent little fingers taking the grills off. Anyone that has had large, heavy tower speakers with sharp corners will know how much damage to plaster walls they can do with Children around. So these were a smart pick for me in more ways than one. I'm wanting a second pack to expand out to a 9.2ch setup. Recommended 7.5/10.
